Meet Jessica, Westport’s newest vet who comes to YOU for all pet-related services! She is not only an incredibly talented veterinarian (3rd generation in her family in fact!) but also a caring, intelligent person who goes above and beyond for her clients- and friends. Jessica and her family moved here last spring from San Francisco, and is -not surprisingly – loving weekend visits to Elviras and the beach! Learn more about her story, her favorite Westport restaurant, and the many animals she grew up with!

How old are your kids and how long have you lived in Westport? Our daughter Leia is 4 years old and our son Cade is 2 years old. Quincy, (my fur baby who is also considered a child), is a 13-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We moved here from San Francisco this past spring and love Westport!

What is your favorite family activity to do in Westport or the surrounding towns? We enjoy going on a family run to Elvira’s for coffee and muffins and then stopping to play at the beach playground on the way home. We also love ordering pizza to the beach on Friday afternoons (weather permitting!).

What was your most memorable family vacation and why? We rented a house in Napa Valley the summer of 2015. The whole family was relaxed as we took in the warm weather, swam, wine tasted and ate delicious food in the beautiful wine region. It was memorable as it is a beautiful part of the country and it was our last summer living in Northern California.

What’s your can’t live without beauty product? Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1. I can’t leave home without it! The kids like to use it now too.

What’s your favorite restaurant in town for a family dinner? A night out with friends? We love Bar Taco for both a family dinner and a night out with friends sans the little ones.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you? I’m a third generation veterinarian with both my father and late grandfather as veterinarians. I grew up surrounded by animals and observing both my grandfather and father in their veterinary clinics, which made me realize that my calling was to help animals through veterinary medicine.

What is your most marked characteristic? I am an avid animal lover. We currently have a dog and rabbit, and I hope to have lots more pets in our home soon! I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, horses, fish, lizards and birds.

What do you most value in your friends? I value sincerity, honesty and dependability; real people. My close friends know that I would take my shirt off my back for them and vice versa. I have a hard time with guarded and superficial people. I don’t have the patience to figure them out.
